Purpose:
This assessment ensures learners understand the theoretical and practical principles of massage and complementary therapies, including safe client handling, consultation procedures, and professional practice standards.

What is Expected:
Learners must complete:

• Written Assignment:

  • Covering the history, benefits, ethics, and theory of massage

  • Demonstrating understanding of contraindications, precautions, and hygiene procedures

• Consultation Roleplay:

  • Simulated client consultation to demonstrate professional communication, record-keeping, and risk assessment

  • Ability to identify client needs and adapt practice accordingly

Submission & Evaluation:

• Written assignment to be submitted to the tutor for review

• Roleplay assessed in class or via recorded demonstration

• Must meet set criteria for understanding, accuracy, and professional conduct

Successful completion is required to pass the Principles & Practice section and continue in the Level 3 Diploma course.
